According to Network World's Tim Greene, customers of ShoreTel phones and unified communications gear can stop worrying that their lives might get complicated by a merger between the company and its rival Mitel. Mitel has taken a $575 million offer for ShoreTel off the table stating the refusal of ShoreTel’s board to talk about the offer.

Greg Bertschmann, President of Harbor Networks, stated that the news won't alter his company's commitment to ShoreTel or integrated voice-data communications. “Regardless of the outcome of the hostile takeover, I am confident that Harbor Networks will continue to build an infrastructure to professionally service and support our customers' Unified Communications needs," says Bertschmann.

"In fact, the refusal of the offer bolsters our belief that ShoreTel is continuing to develop future-proof solutions that uniquely blend the stability of the premises with the flexibility of the cloud," he explains. "ShoreTel clearly knows the value of what they have and our mutual customers are realizing that same thing.”
