HN Blog: ShoreTel Positioned as “Leaders” for the Magic Quadrant of Unified Communications for Midsize Enterprises in North America

In May of this year, ShoreTel® (NASDAQ: SHOR), the leading provider of simplified phone systems and Unified Communications (UC) solutions announced that Gartner®, Inc. has positioned ShoreTel in the “Leadership” quadrant of their “Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications for Midsize Enterprises in North America.”

A Gartner Magic Quadrant is used to evaluate technology players within a specific market; it is a culmination of research in a specific market, giving you a wide-angle view of the relative positions of the market's competitors. The Magic Quadrant can be used to quickly assess how well technology providers are executing their stated vision and how well they are performing against Gartner’s market view.

This was the first Magic Quadrant focusing primarily on Unified Communications for midsize enterprises in North America. Gartner, Inc. focused on 10 different UC solution providers who catered to the midsize business market. These 10 UC solution providers were evaluated by two separate criterion. The first being the “Completeness of Vision” criteria that encompass market understanding, marketing strategy, sales strategy, and vertical industry strategy. The second criteria is the “Ability to execute” evaluation that included product or service, sales execution, pricing, and customer experience.
